Knitting Level
Intermediate - Knowledge of Toe-Up socks is a good thing here...

Materials
2 hanks Lorna's Laces Shepard Sock yarn (80% Superwash Wool/20% Nylon)
2 Size 1 circular needles (I am using 24" Addi Turbos)
Darning Needle

Women's Medium (I wear size 8.5 shoes)

Gauge
8 stitches per inch in stockinette/11 rows per inch

Abbreviations
PSO2 - pick up first knit stitch and pass over next 2 knit stitches

Directions

TOE: Cast 9 stitches onto 2 circular needle using your favorite toe-up cast on method. Leave a very long tail for the first row of stitches.

Row 1: Using both the skien yarn and the yarn tail, knit into each stitch on both needles. (You will now have 18 stitches on each circular needle).

Row 2: Knit first 4 stitches separately. *Knit next 2 stitches together. Knit next two stitches separately.* Repeat * to * 2 more times. Knit last 4 stitches separately. Repeat for other needle. (You will now have 15 stitches per circular needle)

Row 3: (increase row) Knit first 2 stitches. Pick up the loop of the stitch from the row below the third stitch and lift stitch onto the left needle. Knit lifted stitch and the following stitch (that lifted stitch came from). Knit until there are three stitches left on the needle. Slip 3rd stitch from end to the right needle. Pick up the loop of the stitch from the row below the slipped stitch and place on left needle. Place slipped stitch from right needle back to left needle (there are now 4 stitches on the left needle). Knit to the end of the row. Repeat on the other circular needle.

Row 4: Knit

Repeat rows 3 & 4 another 5 times...

Row 15: (half increase row) Knit first 2 stitches. Pick up the loop of the stitch from the row below the third stitch and lift stitch onto the left needle. Knit lifted stitch and the following stitch (that lifted stitch came from). Knit to the end of the row. Repeat on the other circular needle. (You will have 28 stitches on each circular needle)

Row 16: Knit

Foot Pattern

Row 1 (instep needle): *Knit 1, YO, K1, Purl 2*. Repeat * to * 6 more times
Row 1 (Sole needle): K28

Row 2 (instep needle): *K3, P2*. Repeat * to * 6 more times
Row 2 (sole needle): K28

Row 3 (instep needle): *K3, P2*. Repeat * to * 6 more times.
Row 3 (sole needle): K28

Row 4 (instep needle): *K3, PSO2 (see above), P2*. Repeat * to * 6 more times.
Row 4 (sole needle): K28
